Home Made Pizza

  Home Made Pizza

This is  the  best and easiest recipe ever!

Made this pizza recipe topped with a delicious, creamy homemade white sauce, barbecue grilled chicken and green bell peppers. And as it goes without saying.. tons and TONS of cheese. For a few weeks now I've, been trying to perfect homemade pizza but to no avail. The crust was too dry or it wasn't the right texture. The secret to a good homemade pizza is a pizza pan. Usually a pizza stone is used but I've opted for the pan which works just as fine. I got mine at a local bakery store but you can get it online as well.

Another big factor to a good pizza is the crust. You can spice up your crust by adding garlic powder or dried herbs. However, since my homemade sauce has garlic in it. I've kept my crust plain.

The white sauce, while it seams daunting is actually very simple. It consists of basic pantry ingredients which can be put together in 5 minutes.

There also endless topping options here and you could do no harm. Let your creativity run free. Just don't put any gummy bears on your pizza and we should be fine.

Here is how I made it!

Pizza dough

: 2 cups bread flour OR all purpose flour
: 2 1/4 tsp instant dry yeast
: 1 1/2 tsp sugar
: 1/4 tsp salt
: 2tbsp olive oil
: 3/4 cup warm water

White sauce

: 2 tbsp butter
: 2 tbsp all purpose flour
: 3 cloves garlic ( chopped)
: 1 cup of milk
: 1/4 tsp salt
: Dash of freshly ground pepper

Method to make Home made White Sauce

: Melt butter in a pan over a low heat.
   Add garlic

: Whisk flour into the melted butter.
   Stirring continuously for 2 minutes.

: Turn up the heat slightly, pour in the milk.

: Bring to a simmer. Continue cooking until
  sauce smoothens and thickens.

: Season with salt and pepper.

Method to make Pizza dough

: Mix together flour, salt, sugar and yeast
in a mixing bowl and stir.

: Pour water over the flour and stir to
  combine.

: Then kneed by hand for 10 minutes until
the dough becomes smooth. Add a little
extra water if required. Be sure to only
add 1 tbsp at a time.

: Form the dough to a big ball and leave
it to rest in a lightly greesed bowl cover
with cling wrap for 60 to 90 minutes or
  until double the size.

: Once the dough has risen, punch down the
dough to release the trapped air bubbles.

: Fold and gently pull the sides over the
center and turn the dough each time.
  Repeat 8 times.

: Use your fingers to flattern and stretch
the dough until it covers the 12inch
  pizza pan.

: Brush the surface with olive oil and use
a fork to poke holes in the dough to
  prevent air bubbles from forming
  when  it bakes.

: Spread a layer of the home made sauce or
any sauce you prefer on the dough

: Add desired toppings  then top with
  generous amount of mozzarella cheese.

: Baked in a 200c preheated oven for
15 minutes or until the crust  are golden
  brown.

Enjoy!

Note:  Bake pizza on the lower rack of your
oven to ensure the crust is closer
            to the heat .

: You can pinch the edges to make a
crust or fold it over to make a
            thicker crust.

: You can make this dough in advance
Let it to rise in room temperature,
punch down the dough and wrap
with cling wrap and store in
            refrigerator. When ready to make
pizza , remove the dough from the
refrigerator and allow to rest for
            30 minutes before preparing the
            pizza topping.

: Pre cook your proteins before adding              onto the pizza dough
